I went to three surgeons for an opinion of Spinal Stenosis. Dr Billinghurst was the best out of them, he took the time and reviewed all my films and medical reports and answered all my questions and concerns. He was very professional, took his time with me and has incredible bedside manners. I ended up having surgery with and am still recovering from surgery. I had to have a two-level cervical discectomy and fusion because of pain radiating into my left arm/ shoulder with pins and needles sensation into my hand. He explained it all and took away any apprehension I had prior to surgery. Immediately upon waking from surgery my symptoms were completely resolved and I had a complete and issue-free recovery. Highly recommend him for your spine surgery needs.
Dr. Billinghurst is a great doctor really good a what he does very knowable and very compassionate.I had to have surgery done. Tomorrow will be a month since the surgery and I feel great my pain went away. He is been there every step of the way ready to address all my question and concerns. He fallowed up tenaciously. I had been in a lot of pain for months taking medicines that wasn't really helping but when I met with Dr. Billinghurst he was able to get to the bottom of the problem and fixed not temporally but permanent so I will defiantly recommend him. Dr. Billinghurst performed cervical spine fusion surgery on me. Prior to surgery I was in so much pain, the pain altered my life style & brought me to tears. I had back surgery in June 2018 (S1 L4 and L5) and it could not have gone any smoother. I was up and walking the day after. I took no medication after I began walking and with no back pain. Everyone is different and I had some pain in my left leg but that slowly went away as the swelling came down. I cannot be any happier with the results! I should have done this sooner. I had total fusion by week 11 and am starting to run and back at the gym now on week 12. Dr. Billinghurst was phenomenal!!

I had extreme pain through top of my left shoulder and down the back of my arm to my elbow.. A MRI showed a pinched nerve. Dr Billinghurst saw the MRI and knew exactly what the problem and the solution were. I needed a Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion....sounds drastic !!! anyhow, the procedure went off without a hitch.....I was back at work in 4 days with very little pain. Dr Billinghurst did a wonderful job. I can recommend him without reservation.

I'm a gambler, but when it comes to my health and quality-of-life, I am not willing to roll the dice. Fairly new to the area, I decided it was time to trust a good friend's judgment on a chronic back problem. Dr. Billinghurst took the time to listen, ask questions, and ultimately provide his expertise. Surgery went smoothly without any complications. I am now living life pain free, not to mention, I've been able to get back on the golf course. Obviously, for me, gambling remains at the casino.

I had back surgery 2 weeks ago im doinging much better then l was before surgery I was eating pain pills like candy im not taking hardly nothing I still am in pain but nothing like befor dr was very profesesial staff very good I though I would never get off pain meds but I can see a light at the end of tunnel now

I was in a car accident in 2011. I was in extreme pain on my lower back. the pain was going down my left leg. I had difficulty sitting in my car. I slep like a pretzel. it was very difficult. after the surgery with dr. billinghurst I am a new person able to enjoy life. he exceede my expectation. he is an awesome surgeon. For more than 2 years, I suffered from back pain and leg pain that was so severe that kept me from moving around and doing my daily activities. After getting an MRI, I was sent to a physical therapist without having any success. I have tried other treatments like acupuncture, massage therapy and nothing was working for me. To alleviate the pain, I was sent to a pain management center for epidural steroid injections under sedation, which gave me no relief at all (and which can have lasting effects on the body). However I tried to avoid spine surgery at all costs because of its reputation of being risky, invasive and required a lengthy recovery and limits mobility permanently. But my pain got so bad that I had no other choice but spine surgery. My son and I, we started our search for a good orthopedic doctor specialized in back and neck surgery. We went online and Dr. Billinghurst's education history and experience impressed us. With the diagnosis of spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis, I was an excellent candidate for a lumbar fusion. Following my surgery, I was immediately free of pain. After 3 weeks in a rehab center, I returned to activities quickly. I have been walking again and doing things I couldn't do before. I really got my life back. I am pleased with my surgery, very happy, and I'm just feeling blessed, thanks to Dr Jason Billinghurst. He is not only a skilled, outstanding doctor, he also is very nice, patient, understanding, and always has a smile on his face. I keep bragging about him to everyone who inquires about my surgery. For years I suffered from chronic back and leg pain. I was diagnosed incorrectly based on assumption by many doctors, told there was no solution and believed I would never find relief. I decided to give it one more chance and came across Dr. Billnghurst. Immediately, I felt comfortable and at ease with his bedside manner; He is calm, gentle, attentive and confident. He took the time to listen and addressed every question. Many people believe surgeons pressure people into surgery. This was not the case with my experience. It didn't take long for me to decide to contact his surgical coordinator, Betty to get the process started. She was wonderful! Within 20 minutes we had insurance approval and a surgery date set.I had a S1-L5 spinal fusion and a L4-L5 microdiscectomy. The idea of surgery can be scary, with Dr. Billinghurst and his unbelievable staff I knew in my heart I would be okay and I would have the best possible outcome. There are many horror stories floating around about back surgery. Surgery is not easy, however not one part of my experience was as painful as the agony of going though life without proper treatment. I am just over a month into my recovery. I feel supported not only by Dr. Billinghurst, but his entire staff. Not one phone call goes unanswered, every message is promptly returned and every concern is addressed. I would highly recommend Dr. Billinghurst to anyone with dealing with spine issues.

I've had a million things to say about my experience with dr. Billinghurst. But every time I start to write this review I become speechless! Everyone scared me of neurosurgeons, how risky their surgeries are, how most have had at least one bad experience or another. But not me! I arrive to my first appointment broken! Dysfunctional tingling arm and straining pains due to a herniated disc in my neck that was pinching my nerve. But you know how you do your research, until you get that one opinion that makes the most sense according to your personal case? Well Dr. Billinghurst not only made the most sense among the opinions I've heard, his wide experience was clear and undeniable from that very first visit. He was very thorough and answered every question I had and even the questions that I didn't know how to ask. All in the precision and detail that I require. His staff took very good care of my insurance issues and paper work. We all know what a headache that can be when we need surgery. I visited at 2 locations, delray beach and palm beach gardens, and in both locations, the staff as well as nurses were the best I've seen in a clinic! Proactive, helpful and friendly. Every detail post surgery was taken care of by the doctor and his great staff, and whenever I had questions they answered me promptly with actual solutions. But most of all, his hand work was just so amazing, he obviously dealt with my disc replacement gently and with great ease like an artist, because within one week I was picking up my life back with no more pains, and started going back to the gym and even going out with friends. ONE WEEK! Not only would I recommend him, I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers, hoping his great work and wonderful energy will spread more and more to everyone who needs it.

Dr. Billinghurst has given me an opporunity to regain my life. After 2 1/2 years of limping and severe back pain, Dr. Billinghurst was able to assist in the diagnosis of my ruptured disc at L5-S1. The fusion surgery was excellent and my recovery is moving as scheduled. The office experience is great as Renita (the Surgery Scheduler) is thorough and patient with your needs. I was very nervous about "back surgery." I had a large herniated disc (ruptured disc) that had to be removed. Dr. Billinghurst was very thorough with his explanation of the procedure and he did a wonderful job. I have no regrets with going through with the surgery. Pain was gone immediately after surgery. I did about 5 weeks of physical therapy/stretching and after about 3 weeks all feeling in my leg and foot came back. Highly refer Dr. Billinghurst!!!
I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Billinghurst. He really is one of the most caring doctors I have ever come across. I first went to see him about a year ago for a pinched nerve in my neck. At first it was just for a second opinion but I felt so comfortable with him that I decided to keep seeing him. My other surgeon wanted to do surgery right away but Dr. Billinghurst suggested that we do everything possible to try to avoid surgery and I really appreciated that. Eventually, the pain in my arm didn't get better with injections so I ended up having surgery a few months ago. Dr. Billinghurst is amazing. He took the time to explain my surgery and really spent a lot of time with me before. After surgery, the pain in my arm went away immediately and I couldn't be happier! Simply amazing! Dr. Billinghurst performed a disc replacement on my neck about 5 years ago. Within 1 week I was fully functional, and back to my normal high-energy life within 3 weeks. Years later today, I still can't believe how seamless his work was and grateful for having had him as my surgeon. His team was so helpful and figured out all the issues with my insurance coverage without me having to do anything. Anyone with spinal injury can stop looking further.

Dr. Billinghurst operated on my neck June 14. He did a fusion of the discs. I was having lots of pain and numbness down my arms.
Today I am pain free.

Dr. Billinghurst is very patient and easygoing. He doesn't push for surgery. He gives you options and let's you decide what to do.

My only complaint is as a severe asthmatic the nursing and X-ray tech should not wear purfum. I had an attack when I went for x-rays.

I got excellent treatment from Dr. Billinghurst. He is very informed and experienced in his field. He was very thorough in his diagnosis. He got my history, prescribed meds, followed with imaging of my spine. He then used the data to clearly explain my condition and recommend course of action. He answered my questions and addressed my concerns. He has good "bedside manners," something seldom seen lately. I recommend him, no hesitation, to anyone in need of a neck/spine specialist. Dr. Billinghurst is an excellent surgeon! I recently had a "L5, S1 Anterior Discectomy and Fusion", by Dr Billinghurst, my second surgery that he performed and the results have been fantastic, the surgery was quick and the results are AMAZING! I recovered quicker then expected and my debilitating pain is GONE!!! I couldn't be happier!! I have recommended Dr. Billinghurst to Family and friends and will continue to do so!
